Did you miss TradMaD Camp the summer? Missing your friends? Need some great traditional music? Listen each evening at www.FolkMusicNotebook.comCo-directed by Joy Bennett and Heather Wood, TradMaD Camp is an annual six-day gathering of live music and dance for adults interested in traditional music and dance. Check out the full TradMaD Staff Lists for previous years, which have links to the artists' websites: 2020, which could not happen, but we hope many will be available for 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015 . Our staff members are not only performers, they are also teachers who enjoy sharing their knowledge. Held at the beautiful and historic Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the campers are treated to daily workshops on specific topics (such as traditional ballads), instrument instruction, dances to live music, staff concerts, vocal coaching, camper concerts, jamming, and singing — and much, much more. The Covid19 pandemic resulted in the postponement of this year's camp, but FOLK MUSIC NOTEBOOK will proudly carry on the spirit of the camp each night as we present concerts from many past and present staff members.
You will have to supply your own campfire and marshmallows for the virtual event, but each evening's concert will feature some of the finest purveyors of traditional music from both sides of the Atlantic! You can tune in and become a virtual camper - and you won't need bug spray to listen at this camp! JOIN IN THE FUN! MONDAY AUGUST 31 - THURSDAYS SEPTEMBER 3 7-10PM ET / 4-7PM PT EXCLUSIVELY ON www.FolkMusicNotebook.com (P.S. - there will be "encore" broadcasts the following morning at 3am ET and again at noon ET - for all of our friends in other parts of the globe!) Extra special thanks to Ron Olesko of Folk Music Notebook for doing major work on getting this all together |
